Goal: Workout.
Dream: Get an eternal workout partner.
Check and check.
My fitness journey began a little over a year ago. I’d played sports all my life, but never took it upon myself to actually get fit so I could perform at a higher level in those sports. I’m not sure what finally clicked for me. It might have been people around me that were doing it, or just the desire for a girlfriend. Probably a bit of both. The first gym I stepped foot in, to actually workout with a plan, was the gym at Boise State University. This is my home. My go to. I know this gym so well. As I kept going I started seeing more and more results. This progress made me go back again and again until I finally reached my goal (always set a realistic goal!!) to have abs that I can see! After I had reached this achievement I had already gotten to the point of finding so much joy from working out that I wasn’t going to stop once I reached that goal.
When I met Sarah I was in full swing of working out. She might have thought it was weird how often I went, but at some point she thought it was less weird and less weird until she accidentally found herself in the gym. We were living in different cities, both wanting to look better for the other. I didn’t fully know how much she was working out! She was going hard! I had always thought about what it would be like to have a wife who would workout with me, it seemed like it would be so fun!
When we finally got to living on the same side of the state we wanted to be workout buddies (I wanted her to be my workout buddy, she was apprehensive about it). We went to the cheap gym and got a membership. She “forgot” her wallet so they put it all on my account. I now know why she works out with me every day. Nah, I think she likes it, it definitely takes time. It’s like an acquired taste, if you didn’t grow up liking it you’ll have to fake it till you make it. That’s a brief introduction on how mine and Sarah’s workout life began together. I’ll keep adding more advice about working out with your significant other. I’ll talk about some of the mistakes I made, but also some of the things that worked in order to get an eternal workout partner. https://amzn.to/2KVy9Qx
